Dalhousie, Himanchal Pradesh, India

Dalhousie town was named after British Governor-General Lord Dalhousie. Those who want to spend time in peace Dalhousie is a beautiful hill station in Northern state of Himanchal Pradesh in India. It is built on and around five hills and located on the western edge of Dhauladhar mountain range of the Himalayas. It is surrounded by the beautiful scenery of snow-capped peaks,
Dalhousie was a summer retreat for troops and bureaucrats of British Empire.

When to visit
The best time to visit this place is summer i.e. May to September.

How to reach
Air: Nearest airport is Gaggal in Kangra (13 km).

Rail: Nearest railway station is Pathankot (80 km) and you can hire Taxis from outside the railway station to reach Dalhousie.

Road: State bus services connect the town in and around Dalhousie. You can also avail overnight luxury buses from Delhi (560 km).

Shimla, Himanchal Pradesh, India

Shimla is the capital city of Indian state Himanchal Pradesh and is situated  in Northern part of India.
Connectivity
The national Highway no.22 connects Shimla to nearest big city Chandigarh. Shimla is also connected by road to most of the cities. Shimla is connected to nearest broad gauge railway station of Kalka. You will enjoy most if you travel to shimla by Toy train from Kalka. Shimla is also connected by Air to Delhi and Kullu. The Jubbarhatti airport is 23 km from Shimla

Tourist Attraction

The Mall is the main shopping street of Shimla. There are many restaurants, clubs, banks, bars, post Offices and Tourist offices.

Christ Church is situated on The Ridge and is second oldest church in Northern India.

Jakhu Hill is situated 2 km away from Shimla at a height of 8000 ft. Hill is the highest peak and offers a beautiful view of the town and the snow-covered Himalayas. There is an old temple with 108 ft high statue of Lord Hanuman at the top of the hill.


Shimla State Museum was opened in 1974 and has tried to protect cultural wealth of the state. A collection of miniature Pahari paintings, sculptures, bronze wood-carvings, costumes, textiles and jewellary of the region are displayed here.
Summer Hill is a lovely township and is situated at a height of 6500 ft on the Shimla-Kalka railway line.
Tara Devi is 11 km away from Shimla bus stand and there is a temple dedicated to the goddess of stars on top of the hill.
Kufri is 16 km from Shimla and is situated at the height of 8600 ft and is famous for winter sports.
