Places to visit in Gujarat, India

Gujarat is the 7th largest state of India and is located on the western part of India. It has 1600 km of coastline which is longest among Indian states. Gujarat attracts large number of domestic and foreign tourists.
Within Gujarat there are many historic forts, palaces, mosque, temples and places of historical importance to visit. Ahmedabad is considered as an ideal hub to cover various destinations in Gujarat.
Gujarat is also famous for its culture. It preserves the rich tradition of song, dance and handicrafts such as Bandhani, Patolas of Patan, Kutchhi work, Khadi, embroidery and many more handicrafts.
Gujarat has many devotional places and temples such as Dwarka, Somnath, Ambaji, Palitana, and Pavagarh, Sun temple, Akshardham (Gandhinagar) to name few.
Gujarat celebrates unique festivals like:
Global Grarba (October-November, all over the state)
Kite Festival (Makar Sankranti, 11-15 January, Ahmedabad)
Kankaria Carnival (25-31 December, Ahmedabad)
Rann Utsav (November-December, Kutch)
Modhera Dance Festival (3rd week January, Modhera)

Since Gujarat is a big state and has many laces that attract tourists it is not possible to cover it in one article. I shall write about them one by one in my future posts.
